Corporate Insight was founded in 1992 by company CEO and Chairman, Peter Ellison. A veteran market researcher and long-time personal investor, Peter recognized that brokerage firms were in need of competitive intelligence in order to develop a best-in-class offline customer experience. To help fill this information gap, he opened personal accounts at a variety of leading brokers and reported on his experience as a client. By 1996, this concept had developed into Corporate Insight’s first subscription service – Broker Monitor.
At the same time, the Internet was beginning to emerge as a powerful new sales and service platform for financial services companies, especially discount brokerages. Identifying an opportunity to combine the success of Broker Monitor with the industry’s growing focus on the Web, Ellison enlisted his son Michael to join the firm in 1997. Together, they launched e-Monitor the following year.
From our humble roots, Corporate Insight has emerged as the leading provider of competitive intelligence and user experience research for the financial services industry. Today, we offer 12 specialized Monitor services covering firms in the annuity, asset management, banking, brokerage, credit cards, insurance and retirement industries. We have also expanded our coverage beyond the traditional desktop Web experience through our Mobile Monitor service, which covers the latest developments in mobile finance technology across the industry.

Over the years, we’ve recognized that our clients often face unique challenges requiring customized solutions. In 2004, we launched our Consulting Services team to complement our Monitor research services and address our clients’ ad hoc research needs. In the process, we developed a Website Audit benchmarking service that enables clients to benchmark their online offering against their major competitors. More recently, we've also launched our User Research services to help clients design and implement user-friendly websites and mobile applications.!-->
