After more than a year of planning, Capital One officially transitioned the ING Direct website to Capital One 360. Other than some slight enhancements, which include a new blue and red color scheme, updated account product names and the new Capital One 360 logo, the new site remains mostly unchanged. Here’s a timeline of the migration process, which began June of 2011:

Fifth Third Bank recently became the latest bank to offer remote check deposit on its mobile banking app. This brings the number of Bank Monitor firms that offer the capability to 12 or roughly 75% of the coverage group. The technology is also becoming more common among investment firms such as Charles Schwab, E*TRADE, Fidelity and Vanguard.

Wells Fargo recently launched a Card Design Studio Facebook app encouraging customers to create debit/credit card photos and invite their friends to vote for their favorite. The service is an extension of the firm’s existing private site Card Design Studio that has allowed clients to customize their card images online, fee-free, for some time. With this app release, Wells Fargo breaks new ground becoming the first Bank Monitor or Credit Card Monitor firm to offer card customization capabilities on Facebook and the ability for clients to solicit the opinion of non-client Facebook friends during the customization process.
