Public site homepages set the tone for rest of the site experience and form investors’ first impressions as they research asset managers and brokerage firms online. Homepages play a role in highlighting products, services, intellectual capital and investing values. Firms have significantly altered their homepage design since the late 1990s, focusing on emphasizing products and services rather than advertising. Websites also now employ responsive design in order to accommodate mobile devices and platforms.
Corporate Insight is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As part of this celebration, we are releasing a series of slide decks that look back at different ways financial services firms have evolved in the digital space since the 1990s. In this slide deck, we explore the evolution of homepage design. Specifically, we review firms in our e-Monitor and Asset Management Monitor coverage groups.
