Longer Intellectual Reach = Greater Client Value

Corporate Insight publishes in-depth research on a variety of subjects within our areas of expertise. Our Monitor analysts generate an ongoing series of reports on narrowly focused topics of interest linked to our Monitor services. Our consulting team produces its own syndicated studies on higher-profile topics, like social media and online education.

Our research adds significant value for clients by extending the intellectual reach of our analysts and consultants . See the results of that reach both on this page—which features our latest Monitor-related reports—and the pages that follow.

Retirement Centers
This Mutual Fund Monitor Report examines the retirement resources available on MFM firms ’public sites. In this report, we graded firms based on the presence of a unified retirement center, whether or not products are organized according to life stages and if all related calculators are available from within the center. Additionally, we considered if the center is housed in its own main menu tab and if retirement-ready funds are promoted within it.

When reviewing these sections, we graded firms based on the following:
  • Accessibility
  • Marketing Structure
  • Resources
Firms scored well in this report. Four firms earned As and nine received Bs. Only two firms received Cs, while one firm received a D and one firm was not considered due to lack of content.

Firm performed well in terms of accessibility. All but two firms offer users a unified retirement center. Additionally, half of the firms considered for this report archive content in a clearly labeled tab. However, only 38% promote retirement centers on a public homepage.

Firms performed well in terms of their marketing structure. Half of firms promote their retirement-ready funds within the retirement center. Additionally, all but two firms provide access to an IRA comparison chart and 63% segment items based on life stage.

Performance was also rather successful in terms of resources. Seventy-five percent of firms feature at least one tool or calculator within their retirement centers. Additionally, half the firms provide checklists, while 56% allow investors to initiate an account application directly from the center.

The report includes the following key findings:
  • 88% of firms offer a centralized retirement center
  • 50% provide a dedicated Retirement tab
  • 44% provide retirement-ready funds
  • 44% provide customer support within retirement pages
