A new article from Ignites examines the benchmarking of digital retirement experiences, featuring an interview with CI senior director of research Drew Way:

For a long time, the quality of retirement-plan recordkeepers’ websites and mobile apps for participants lagged those of banks, brokerages and other more retail-oriented firms, said Andrew Way, senior director at the research firm.

However, customer expectations are changing.

“The quality of digital is rising in the importance of [plan sponsors’ requests for proposals],” he said. That’s partly because recordkeepers’ investment lineups and fees have become more competitive in the past decade, he added.
